A Visit to Thomas the Bakers

At the beginning of March 2016, all year 10 Food Technology students had the privilege of visiting the Thomas the Bakers factory in Helmsley. Students spent a fantastic two hours understanding the logistics of running the company, gaining an insight into the different departments, as well as touring the factory and seeing the staff at work, followed by a Q&A session with Chris Chapman, the companies Quality Assurance Manager.

Students gained a great deal of knowledge which will be useful within their controlled assessment tasks and within their final GCSE exams. Chris ensured that the sessions were fun and interesting. Miss Wallis and the year 10 Food students would like to say a huge thank you to Chris and the team at Thomas the Bakers for enabling us to visit.
