The Year 10’s have excelled in the ‘LTA National Team Tennis Schools’ league. Ryedale School is the only state school in the area who enter the U15 league. The B Team have done really well beating some tough opponents and have ended up winning division 2.
The A team, who now play in division 1 after being promoted when they were in year 8, have had some challenging matches against private schools including, Queen Margaret’s, St Peter’s, Pocklington and Ampleforth. The girls have done extremely well to have won some of their singles and doubles games.
The B team and C team who played in division 2 have also had a lot of challenging matches and played against private schools including Ripon, Bootham and Ampleforth. The B team have been unbeaten and won their division. The C team beat Ampleforth B team and Bootham, only losing to Ripon. The greatest success was when both teams played Bootham School and won 10 out of 12 matches.
