Ryedale School work with North Yorkshire Police to further educate parents and carers on the issues of online safety

ceopOn Monday 27th June 2016, we welcomed parents of Ryedale School and feeder primary schools to offer advice and guidance around online safety and the law. Ryedale School’s Head of Personal Development, Miss Wallis teamed up with PC Rogers and her colleagues from North Yorkshire Police to provide information and advice about the sites and applications that young people are often using today, the risks involved with online activity, what the law says and what we can do to ensure our young people are safe whilst using online social media sites.

The event was very successful with lots of positive feedback from those who attended. The evening coincided very well with the work that our students have undertaken in Personal Development and ICT throughout the year with the support from North Yorkshire Police. We will continue to emphasise this message throughout both key stages at Ryedale School, and we look forward to continuing our working partnership with the police to better inform our young people and their parents and carers.
