Medals galore at Youth Games

On Sunday 3rd July Ryedale Schools year 9 Rounders squad made the journey to Queen Margaret’s school in Escrick to compete in the North Yorkshire Youth Games. The team gained their place in the games by winning the Ryedale and Whitby Rounders tournament earlier on in the season. The team played six matches against other districts in North Yorkshire, they left the games victorious, achieving gold medals and a trophy.

Bronze place went to Harrogate district, Silver place to Craven district and Gold place to Ryedale Schools year 9 team, who were representing the Ryedale and Whitby district. The day was very enjoyable and a big thankyou must be given to the event’s organisers and volunteer staff. The girls were thrilled to have won the tournament, and were also privileged enough to meet Chris Cook, England’s Olympic swimmer. We look forward to seeing where the girls progress throughout their time at Key Stage 4.
