On Friday 28th February 2020, Ryedale School had a very special visitor by the name of Yasmine. Yasmine is originally from Pakistan and now lives in Skipton. She was here to teach Year 7s about her religion, childhood and prejudice.
The day started with a whole year assembly where Yasmine greeted us in her native language and told us a little about her life and why she was here. Throughout the day, each Year 7 form then had an hour to take part in a workshop with Yasmine. We got to dress up in outfits that she would wear and try different foods from the Muslim religion. Overall it was a very interesting day where we learnt lots. We would like to thank Mr Hopkins for setting this day up.
