Ryedale School KS4 District Football Champions

Ryedale started the second game against Cadman nearly with a 1-0 lead by Brown, who ran clear down the left before delivering the ball into the box where it was met by at the near post by Magson who’s first time effort went agonisingly wide. As the game went on the Cadman attackers began to work the ball nicely down the pitch the midfielders began to be a lot more defensive. Half time came around and Ryedale changed their formation to match Cadman’s. With not having a lot of chances at goal Cadman soon delivered a goal. Soon after the goal was scored the final whistle blow but this didn’t mean that Ryedale heads went down if anything this made them fight for the cup even more and made them more determined to win the next 2 games.

Ryedale started the third match against Norton with an even play from both teams creating chances to score. With 2 minutes left till half time Norton make a quick run down the left hand side Whitehead and Hamilton creating pressure which then made Norton’s shot off target. Harper then did a beautiful goal kick down to walker who then passed to Nichols who dribbled into the box and passed to Magson who’s first time shot made it 1-0. With a quick change around a half time Ryedale heads were soon determined to get another goal. With Beckett clearing the ball up the line to Walker who had a shot but was unfortunately not on target.

With winning the game 1-0 Ryedale really wanted to win the final game. Ryedale started the final game against St Augustine’s strongly with Ryedale passing about and working as a team. With lots of shots on goal Ryedale were working the ball around the box really nicely. Straight after half time Walker won the ball from a brilliant tackle passed it to Thornton who sprinted down the right hand side and crossed it into to Walker who just had time to line it up nicely before she sealed the game.

We then came joint first with Cadman.
