Issy Nicholls of Ryedale School won the Scarborough and District Sports Award for the ‘11 years and under girls’ category. There were a range of sports players being honoured at the Awards ceremony on Monday 27th February; from cricket to volleyball, water-skiing to motor sports and many more. She was nominated by Scarborough Athletics Club for her running and multi-sport achievements during 2016.
Highlights of Issy’s year were:
- Competing for GB in biathle (run-swim-run), receiving silver team medal
- Gold in North Yorkshire and South Durham Cross Country League
- Bronze in English Schools Fell Running Championships
- Took gold in the York and North Yorkshire Schools Cross Country Finals, becoming County Champion
We are all very proud of Issy and look forward to what the futures holds here at Ryedale.
