100ml Measuring Cylinder
100 milliliters is equal to: 0.1 cubic decimeters, 100 cubic centimeters, 100,000 cubic millimeters, 0.1 liter, 1 decoliter and 100,000 microliters. It’s also equal to 6.76 tablespoons or 20.29 teaspoons. though easier to use one of these cylinders I’d say.
Deep Tray
The company that makes these trays, Gratnells, run a school science technician of the year award where there are hundreds of pounds worth of prizes – go for it Ryedale teccies!
Shallow Tray
If you are drawn to the fuschia pink colour of the tray this probably means you are loving, kind, generous and sensitive to the needs of others. You are one of the nurturers of this world! So true I hear you say … like to sponsor one or two??
Clip on lids
Bet you wish there was a video that tells you how to keep snap on lids nice and clean? Wait … there is!
TK-Team Maxi Screen projection board 80’
This board has specifically been designed for use with a special interactive projector pen but if in one crazy moment someone uses a dry pen by accident some warm soapy water will save the day.
Teachers Desk
“If a cluttered desk is a sign of a cluttered mind, of what, then, is an empty desk a sign?” Albert Einstein – doubtless our new teachers desks will end up looking both creative and organised! Sponsor one and we’ll send you a picture …
Epson – EB-696 Ui Projector
25ml Measuring Cylinder
Did you know 25ml is equal to 2 tablespoons? This is the smallest measuring cylinder for liquids in our laboratory – any smaller and it’s better to use a measuring spoon.
Pepperpot Stool
‘Designed to extend the contemporary style of the modern day classroom into the lab.’ – someone worked long and hard to come up with that line of marketing so the least we can do is replicate it here …
ColourPlus Open Noticeboard
These come in purple, magenta, lilac, orange, cyan and apple green – we’ll need three in each of our new classrooms. Dare we go multi-coloured? Sponsor one and find out!
Polythene Funnel – 90mm
A good photographer can even make a funnel look cool. We need 30 of these larger ones so as they come ten to a pack just three packs will make us all very, very happy.
Test Tube Holder – brass
Doesn’t this look stylish, bit retro? Like the ones us parents used to use back in the dim and distance past. We’d love someone to sponsor the purchase of the twenty we need but at a pinch just one would be fab too.
Test Tube Holder
No, it’s not Dr Beal’s nasal hair remover! Well yes it kind of looks like one but these will keep fingers and hands safe and are a snip at £4.74 for a pack of 10.
Zinc Plated Steel Rod – 500mm
A fine upstanding piece of equipment that comes in at just under £3 – I would posture this might be an attractive option to any back specialists looking to support science at Ryedale!
Clamp Rubber Jaws
Another part of the boss head, stand, steel rod team that holds everything together in science laboratories throughout the land – 20 of these three fingered dudes are needed please.
Eyeshields
Any spectacle wearers out there looking for a bespoke sponsorship opportunity? These are designed to be worn over prescription spectacles so what a great gift you would be giving. Just one pack of 10 is all we need.
Distilled Water Bottle
How do you make distilled water? Simply boil some water and then condense the steam (water molecules) into a clean container. With its impurities removed any changes observed in an experiment will be a result of the variable and not the water. Lesson over!
Pyrex Squat Beaker – 100ml
Trivia time – Pyrex is a brand introduced by Corning Inc. in 1908 for a line of clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass used for laboratory and kitchen glassware. You knew that didn’t you … and that these beakers are in packs of 10?
Gauzes
Did you know wire gauze is an important piece of supporting equipment in a laboratory because beakers and other glassware cannot be heated directly with a flame? Well, that’s why we need ’em! Each pack contains five gauzes.
Boiling tubes
These are the same as the test tubes – just BIGGER! And yes, a tad more pricey. Come in packs of 100 so, with careful handling boys and girls, two packs will last us ages.
Test Tube
A chemistry test tube typically has a flat bottom, a round bottom, or a conical bottom. Well, there’s food for thought! Each pack has 100 of these beauties and so we only need two kind sponsors to get us up and testing.
Test Tube Rack
Keeping those slippery test tubes in order are these cool racks. These are particularly great as they are easily stackable giving much happiness to our hard-working lab technician!
Thermometer
Should be able to cope with Yorkshire temperatures having a range of -10 to 110 °C. You get 5 in a pack for just £9.94 so these are HOT!
Boss Head
No, we’re not talking about Mr McCandless – a boss head is used to keep a clamp in place so if you put a glass holder in between the clamp it doesn’t fall/break.
Bunsen Burner
The bunsen burner was invented by Robert Wilhelm Bunsen a German chemist and teacher in 1855. Sadly Bunsen was blinded in one eye when a chemistry experiment of his exploded.
Polythene Funnel – 65mm
Little, cute funnels at 65mm to complement the bigger 90mm bruisers. They travel together in packs of ten but will happily pair up with filter paper for any kind of distillation experiment needed.
Gratnell Stacking System
Gratnell are the company that make these specialist systems – check out their About Us – it’s a story of success, failure, fires, and unexplained deaths! Shout out for local company sponsorship opportunity!
Pipette
Surprise, surprise the word pipette is of French origin ~ ‘pipe’ meaning … you’ve guessed it, pipe and the suffix ‘ette’ indicating small, so … small pipe. 500 in a pack so just one needed s’il vous plait.
Tripod
Concocting all sorts of wonderful chemical reactions wouldn’t be possible without the good old tripod – bunsen burner underneath, gauze (oh happy days…)
Polypropylene Stirring Rod
Why polypropylene I hear you asking? Cos it’s rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids – well so says Wikipedia.
Retort Base
OK this is not the most exciting sponsorship opportunity we have but without items like Retort Bases science would just not stack up! So let’s hear it for steel bases with rubber feet!
Wooden splints
Remember these from when you did science? Just one pack has a 1K splints so that’s all we need for the time being.
Colouring Pencils
A whopping 288 pencils come with this pack plus some free sharpeners. Great quality so none of those annoying multiple lead breaks you get with the cheapies.
Spatula
Made of stainless steel these are a steal (sorry …) just 98p each.
3 Shelf Trolley
Now this might seem pricey for a simple trolley but it needs to be high spec for a working lab – it’s chemical resistant and even has brakes. Really vital piece of kit – just one needed tho’.
Calculator
The hand-held pocket calculator was invented by Texas Instruments in 1966 and cost around $2000 – these little uns come in at just £2.05 so sponsoring five would cost you just ….?
Lab Spectacles
How cool are these? And at just £1.97 a pair a great pocket money sponsorship opportunity!
Pyrex Squat Beaker – 100ml
OK brace yourselves for some science … these beakers are made from Borosilicate glass which are known for having very low coefficients of thermal expansion (~3 × 10−6 K−1 at 20 °C), making them resistant to thermal shock – phew! Come in packs of 10.
250ml Measuring Cylinder
Just in case this may prove useful in post Brexit times 250mL is equal to 8.798770 UK fl oz. Under the current law the only non-metric liquid measure that can be used are pints – for draught beer/ cider and milk.
Ergo Pro Dual-Tip Marker Pen
Dual-tipped, alcohol based markers, with chisel and flexible brush-like tips – we’d love to have a whole set … which amounts to 96 colours (including a colourless blender).
Table Easel
We don’t have room for freestanding easels so these table versions are perfect. As well as making the most of limited space, the other main advantage of this type of easel is that it can be adjusted to exactly the right angle for viewing your work from a seated position. These are a great price too!
Ironlak Spectrum Pack – 18 x 400ml Cans
Spray Art is said to have originated in Mexico City in the early 1980s and has captured the imagination of many young people. We have several pupils at Ryedale who have really grasped this art form – like to support them?
A1 Heavy Duty Trimmer With Free Metal Stand
We’ve tried smaller, cheaper trimmers but they don’t last with the amount of use we give them. This is our dream trimmer, our art teachers really do wake up in the middle of the night thinking our equipment like this. Can you make their dreams come true?
Viking Basic Sewing Machine
Though basic this sewing machine is perfect for our needs. As well as enabling pupils to widen the scope of their GCSE work doubtless they will be used by our Performing Arts costume makers too. Fancy sewing up this sponsorship opportunity?
Chromacryl Acrylic Paint Essentials 500ml 12pk
Our pupils use a great deal of acrylic paint in producing their fine works of art and with our new art rooms doubtless we’ll have even greater demand. We love these paints (they even wash out of clothes!)
Plug and Play Top Loading Kiln
We’re going potty about the opportunities this wonderful top loading, free-wheeling kiln will give all our pupils to try their hand at ceramics. Being mobile we can move it between classrooms too. Big bucks but huge impact for our department.
Ergo Pro Dual-Tip Marker Pen
Dual-tipped, alcohol based markers, with chisel and flexible brush-like tips – we’d love to have a whole set … which amounts to 96 colours (including a colourless blender).

ErgoPro Illustration Markers – Counter Display Unit
This counter display unit holds 576 pens, 6 of each colour and to have one in each classroom would be ‘teacher heaven’ and allow us to keep track of all our pens during and after our colourfully, creative classes!
Table Easel
We don’t have room for freestanding easels so these table versions are perfect. As well as making the most of limited space, the other main advantage of this type of easel is that it can be adjusted to exactly the right angle for viewing your work from a seated position. Network Socket
No idea what these are either? Here goes: A network socket is an internal endpoint for sending or receiving data at a single node in a computer network. Ahhh … I see now. Any teccies reading this, here’s your budget sponsorship opportunity!
Pupil Desk
Remember graffiti covered wooden desks of old? Our modern versions have a smooth, hard, monolithic surface that resists gouging by ballpoint pens, compasses, scissors etc – now chewing gum is another matter!!
Electric Socket
Quiz enthusiast? You may know this. Who invented the first electric plug? The wonderfully named Harvey Hubbell in 1904 and his company, Hubbell Inc is still going today. We’re going to need 10 sockets per room please.
Teachers Chair
For hundreds of years chairs were symbolic articles of state and dignity rather than something for every day use, most ordinary folk simply sat on the floor or on benches. We’ve obviously moved on a tad – these have wheels, swivel, go up and down and ummm – well, that’s it …
Pupil Chair
The Titan Chair was the first one piece Polypropylene chair to obtain EN1729 Part 1 & 2 Certification for strength and ergonomics – so it’s not only the pupils that attain great results at Ryedale School.
ColourPlus Open Noticeboard
These come in purple, magenta, lilac, orange, cyan and apple green – we’ll need three in each of our new classrooms. Dare we go multi-coloured? Sponsor one and find out!
TK-Team Maxi Screen projection board 80’

Go on take pity on these poor cables – they might not be the most exciting product in the world but where would we be without them? So why not let it be you who says ‘I am the proud sponsor of Ryedale School’s Network Patch Cables’ – awesome!
Mouse
The mouse was invented by Douglas Engelbart in 1964 and consisted of a wooden shell, circuit board and two metal wheels that came into contact with the surface it was being used on. Today you can sponsor one of these little fellas for just five pounds.
Windows keyboard
Do you know about keyboard short cuts? Here’s a quick one to get you warmed up – want to get to your desktop quickly? Then click the Windows key+D at the same time, to restore, just repeat the same keystroke. More like this. Only a tenner each!
Lenovo Think Centre Tiny-In-One 22 Monitor
Space saving, industry-leading borderless design TIO22 creating a sleek, clean look. Don’t you love marketing speak? But seriously these are the perfect match for the PCs so says our IT technicians and who are we to question?
