The official opening of Ryedale School’s new extension took place on Thursday 21st June 2018. The fantastic new facilities include nine classrooms, the refurbishment of science and art rooms and two additional tennis courts. The chair of Governors, David Dangerfield and chair of Friends of Ryedale School, Gareth Jenkins, expressed their gratitude to everyone that has worked so hard to help ensure Ryedale School continues to thrive and can move forward with confidence.
In particular, thanks goes to those individuals and organisations that have provided funding to support the new facilities, including North Yorkshire County Council, the Wolfson Foundation, the Garfield Weston Foundation, parents, staff and the Friends of Ryedale School.
Head Boy, Harry McMurray and Head Girl, Georgia Morgan cut the ribbon then guests were escorted on a tour of the new building by our prefects.
The additional capacity created by the extension will enable the school to provide a fantastic educational experience for 150 students in Years 7 to 10 from September 2018.
