On Tuesday 12th June Ryedale’s A rounders team went to Lady Lumley’s for a District Rounders Tournament, this had become a yearly tradition for Ryedale’s top rounders teams to try and beat neighbouring schools for the title, District Champions.
As we were in pools, our first game was against Eskdale and we managed to win 9-2. All warmed up we then played Malton and also won 7 ½-2 ½. Then we played Scalby School and won 5 ½-1 giving us a solid chance of competing in the semi-final. Our decider game was against Pindar and again we beat them 11 ½-3 putting us forward to the semi final.
The semi-final was against Scarbrough College, by this time we had all successfully mastered batting, our placement was well thought through and our fielding was extremely tight, we managed to win 9-2. Putting us in the final for District Champions against Lady Lumley’s themselves… and we won 9-3. District Champions!!
