On Tuesday 18th October, Ryedale School’s Year 8 A team travelled to Eskdale School to compete in the Under 13 District Netball tournament. After a total of six matches Ryedale were District Champions once again! Scoring 67 goals and only conceding 4.
The first match was against Eskdale and after a slow start we picked up the pace winning 15-0.
The second match was against Lady Lumleys School which Ryedale won 6-1.
The third match was against Graham and due to fantastic defence from (GKs) Cally Cussons and Jess Jones and (GD) Abby Ryder the opposition had no chance of scoring! The final score was 10-0.
The next match was against St Augustines, we knew we had to win this match to guarantee ourselves a place in the semi-final. With superb interceptions from (WDs) Erin Smith and Isla Mcclanachan the ball was quickly brought down the court resulting in a 11-1 win!
The semi-final match was against Malton, with great centre court play from (C) Georgie Eve and myself (WA) Fran Cuming, we were into the final winning 10-1.
The final was against Scalby, this was the most enjoyable match for Ryedale as (GA) Izzie Mayfield and (GS) Jasmine Graham we won 15-1!!!
