Ryedale school Year 7 basketball team won the North Yorkshire county basketball at York College. They qualified for the tournament by winning the Scarborough and district championship, beating Pindar school, Scarborough in the semi final and then Scalby school, Scarborough in the final.
Ryedale played Easingwold school in the semi final, the Hambleton and Richmond champions winning convincingly 34 -2. The final was contested between Ryedale and St Aidens, Harrogate. Ryedale took an early lead and held on throughout the game with some determined defence. Winning 14 – 10.
