The Year 11’s, who had won the District Netball Tournament in October to go through to the County Round, went to Queen Ethelburgas to compete against the seven other qualifying teams from North Yorkshire. They were determined and focused right from the offset.
The first match ended in a convincing win of 14-8 against Stokesley. They then went on to have a very close match against St Peter’s and only just lost by two goals; the only loss of the day. Every other match after this was a convincing win!
The team played some great netball and although they came second, Ryedale scored 28 goals more than the winners, St Peter’s. The team will now go on to play in the Regional Round in January.
I am so proud of the girls; the standard of play was just fantastic! We are all looking forward to the Regional Round.
The umpires all commented on how polite, respectful lovely the Ryedale teams were – they are a credit to the school.
