Shakespeare set design competition

Ryedale have been playing their part in the Shakespeare 400 Project. While the BBC have been producing their own tributes to the playwright we have been studying his plays, entering in competitions and even doing a spot of acting in lessons.

To further celebrate Mrs Hamilton has been running a competition in the library which has challenged pupils to design and draw a theatre set of their choosing from one of Shakespeare’s plays.

Our pupils produced a range of different scenes from plays including ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘Romeo and Juliet’. The entries are now in and the students are eagerly awaiting the results!”
