On Thursday 2nd October I took the Year 9 netball team to the District netball tournament held at Scalby School, I had high hopes for the girls as they are currently unbeatable in the Scarborough and Ryedale district. Ruth Aber the year 9 captain has documented the tournament in a match report.
On Thursday the 2nd of October the Year 9 netball team travelled to Scalby school to take part in the district tournament. Nine matches, (in which the team were easily dominant) and 110 goals later they went on to become the district netball champions. The strong defending partnership between Holly Collier (GK) and Harriet Eve (GD) was vital to the success and both girls played extremely well – conceding only 19 goals across all the matches. Led by captain, Ruth Aber, the team will now go through to the county tournament on November 8th.
I am sure that the girls will give an excellent account of themselves in the county tournament. Well done to them all.
