The Kirkbymoorside 4K run proved to be another successful event for Ryedale School pupils. A recent addition to the Kirkby 10K programme it provides an opportunity for teenage runners to take part and so it was great to see our Years 7-11 take up a large number of places in this increasingly popular event.
As the morning rain eventually cleared some welcome sunshine warmed the 360 race competitors taking part in the 4K and 10K races cheered on by the large crowds who had gathered in spite of wintry conditions.
This year the annual race was celebrating its 15th anniversary and as they have done every year a musical accompaniment was provided by the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band who themselves are celebrating an anniversary, their 200th.
