On Monday 16th October 2017, Laura Ricketts, an ex-Ryedale School student, came into school to deliver an inspirational assembly to our year 11 students. Laura spent five months earlier this year, cycling home to Wombleton, all the way from China.
Laura battled some extreme conditions throughout her journey, whilst also suffering from Pneumonia. Laura delivered a fantastic assembly, which really promoted SMSC, as well as resilience.
It was a fantastic talk for our year 11 students and we look forward to welcoming her again in the near future to speak to our year 8 students.
