On Tuesday 3rd November, Ryedale School’s Year 8 A and B teams went to Caedmon School for the Partnership Hockey Tournament. The B team did extremely well. They lost 1, drew 2 and won 2!
In the A team, our first game was against Lady Lumley’s School. Unfortunately, we were only just getting started and lost this match 3-0. In our second game, we played Ryedale B and won 3:0 thanks to some wonderful defending by Ellie Redshaw, Pippa Brown and our goal keeper Molly Chapman, as well as goals scored by Izzy Rogerson, Martha Calton-Seal and myself.
Our third game was against Fyling Hall and we beat them 6:0! This was a fantastic team effort with a co-ordinated attack and great goals scored. Our fourth game was against Caedmon. They had a strong defence; however, so did we and this made the game a 0:0 draw. Our final game was against Norton. We won 4:0. Olivia Darrel played extremely good defence and Evie Chapman played excellently on the wings to pull towards our final goals.
In the end, the A team had a fantastic result and came first out of the Partnership teams, while the B team played very well to come third. It was a well-deserved success and a fantastic effort from all the players.
