On the 18th of November the Year 7 netball A and B team took part in a seven-team tournament at Lady Lumley’s School. It was a tiring event but was really enjoyable. The A teams first match was against our B team it was a good match and the end score was 4-0; our defence played exceptionally well, we were all so happy. The B team were against Eskdale next, they played well winning 5-0 with their amazing shooters Oliva Clough and Olivia Darrel doing particularly well. At the same time the A team were winning against Caedmon College 6-1. After that the A team was on a roll, winning 10-0 to Lady Lumley’s A team, then beating Eskdale once again but by 12-0. Well done Georgia Morgan and Evie Chapman (who shot some super goals). Soon after we had a rematch against Malton School and we won a tricky game 4-2. The ball was rushed down the court all the time by Malton but our defence came down heavy with Katie Goodwin, Abbie Cowton and Freya Maxwell playing really well. To finish off the tournament as champions we needed to win the last match against lady Lumley’s B team.  It was a strange game, it almost felt the ball went nowhere in the first half but in the second half we great performances from Leah Nichols, Molly Chapman and Ellie Redshaw. To finish as District Tournament winners was a great feeling, and the B team deserve congratulations for coming 5th. I would just like to thank Miss Middleton for taking us or we wouldn’t have got to have an outstanding experience like we did. Thank you – exceptional playing everyone.
