Year 11 rugby team are district champions

Ryedale beat St Augustine’s, Scarborough 34 – 12 in the Year 11 Scarborough and District rugby final held at Scarborough Rugby Club.

Ryedale began the game positively and were 17-0 up at half time with two tries by George Stevens and one by George Leeming. Captain Toby Higgs kicked a conversion. In the second half St Augustine’s came out fighting and scored two quick tries, this led to a period of superb defending by the Ryedale pack until George Leeming scored a well-worked try. Elliot Hutchinson and Dan Mountain completed the scoring to give Ryedale a hard fought 34-12 victory.
