Year 11 Netball – a great set of results

On Tuesday 3rd September the Year 11 Ryedale netball team travelled to Malton to participate in the Under 16 District netball tournament. The first game against Caedmon College, Whitby was a good starter to get into our flow, beating them 9 – 0. The second game verses Graham was also a win, 12 goals to nil.

We continued our winning streak in the third game by beating St Augustine’s 5 – 0. After a break we went up against a hard Malton side, but we pulled through to win 2 – 1. After a tough match we went on to continue using our excellent channel play to beat Scarborough College 10 – 0. We then beat Scalby 8 – 1, which left us with only Lady Lumley’s to play as our last match.

We took this match 12 – 1, which meant we progressed through to the preliminary county round.

With a huge effort from all players, strong defence and outstanding attack we won all our games and scored 58 goals in total over the afternoon, only conceding 3. We hope to continue our netball journey as far as we can past the next round.
