On Thursday 12th of November the Year 10, 11 a-side hockey team went to Lady Lumleys School to play their Partnership Hockey Tournament. We played four games in total.
Our first game was against Malton School. We won 4-0, highlights were a great strike from Sam Brown (RA) and a superb cross from Eliza Powell (CF) to the left secured Niamh Wragg (LA) with her first goal of the season.
Ryedale’s second match was against Whitby. Due to Shannon Harper’s (SW) brilliant defending and Ellie Crowther (GK) making a key save, this secured us a goalless draw.
The third match we played was against Lady Lumley’s. Millie Redshaw (CM) used one of her impressive flicks to achieve a 2-0 win.
Our final match was against Fyling Hall. Due to our draw against Whitby we had to win by goal difference meaning all pressure was on us to win this match. One of the most important goals came from Hattie Eve (RM) where she powerfully hit the ball into the back of the goal. The final score was 5-0 ensuring we won the tournament by 6 goals.
