After a very successful season, two Ryedale School Year 10 girls have been successful in being selected for the North Yorkshire Hockey team.  Sophie Wilson and Emily Waind attended a series of training sessions with the county squad and following excellent performances in a final trial at Pocklington, received their call up to the squad for a training camp this weekend. 

In the recent North Yorkshire Schools’ Cross Country event, held in Leeming, four Ryedale School runners represented the Scarborough and District team.  In the year 7 race, Morwenna Davies finished in 26^th place and Laura Laycock finished 33^rd.  Excellent performances from Tyler Hutchinson, who finished in 3^rd place in the year 7 boys’ race, and Jade Hutchinson, who finished in 8^th place in the Junior Girls’ race, have led to them being selected for the North Yorkshire team and will compete in the Northern Counties Championships at Hexham.

Ryedale School’s Year 10 football team were deserved 8-0 winners over Norton College recently, producing a great all round team performance with Jack Pooleman scoring a hat-trick.  The year 7 and year 9 teams also produced excellent team performances against Norton College.  The year 7 team won 6-3, remaining unbeaten so far this season and the year 9 team won 5-1.  Norton’s year 8 team won 6-3 and they also won the year 11 fixture 2-1.
