Ryman and Ryedale make GCSEzy

On Wednesday 4th July, myself and five other students embarked on a trip to Telford; Alex Gilhooley, Isaac Thompson, Reuben Lally, Emily White, Grace Langton-White and Isabel Hogg.

The trip saw us make a 5.15am start, with a lengthy train journey to and from the venue, returning home at 9.45pm. We were accompanied by Miss Wallis and Mrs Mackley, after winning the Ryman Enterprise Challenge at school last week. We attended the competition in Telford, and competed against 200 other schools, pitching our new ‘back to school’ campaign idea in order to impress the judges and be the new face of Ryman Stationers.

Our idea was GCSEzy, and since winning last week’s school competition, we have spent some time polishing this idea, developing our poster, creating a shop front and prototype display cabinet, developing our website banner and online competition, as well choreographing a promotional and even developing prototype of our new product; a fully motorised compass.

We absolutely gave the competition our all, and as a team we are really proud of our pitch, which Miss Wallis said was ‘professional and proficient’. We had a fantastic day in Telford, and are really pleased that our year group has been able to participate in this competition. We have met some incredible people along the way, including; Theo Pahititis from Dragons Den and Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely from Diversity.

Thank you for giving us this opportunity.
