Ryedale U14s Girls become District champions at Hockey

Ryedale travelled through to Scarborough College for the District Hockey Final.

Match Report

A chip in from Millie Redshaw was controlled by Sam Brown. Sam Brown crossed it to Niamh Wragg who struck the ball home. This gave Ryedale a great start with a great goal and they deservedly went in front. Scarborough battled well and brought the best out of Ryedale’s team and also Ryedale’s keeper Ellie Crowther.

The score at half time was 1-0.

The second half continued end to end and Scarborough got an equalizer. With chances going begging, the game ended all level taking it into penalty flicks. With the 1st two penalties missed and the next two scored, Eliza Powell was one of them, the sides remained tied. With another two missed, Holly Collier for Ryedale scored and Ellie Crowther saved the deciding goal.

I was extremely proud of the girls especially Ellie Crowther the goalkeeper. This reflects how dedicated the girls are and they should be extremely proud of this achievement as Scarborough College have never being beaten in this age group before.
