On Tuesday 4th October 2016 Ryedale School collaborated with Beadlam Grange Farm Shop, delivering a butchery masterclass to all Year 10 Food Preparation and Nutrition students.
Martyn, Beadlam Grange’s resident butcher, kindly visited the students in school and demonstrated a number of butchery skills including how to stuff a chicken breast, how to make burgers as well as how to portion a whole chicken.
Following Martyn’s masterclass, all students have successfully portioned their own chickens, using each of the portions in a range of dishes that they have produced within their food lessons.
Miss Wallis and the students would like to say a huge thank you to Martyn and the staff at Beadlam Grange for making this workshop possible and so enjoyable.
