New Multi-Academy Trust to be established in North Yorkshire

Following a successful application to the Regional School’s Commissioner, the Ryedale Federation of four schools (Helmsley CP School, Kirkbymoorside CP School, Ryedale School and Sinnington CP School) has been granted approval to convert to a new multi-academy trust: to be known as the Ryedale Learning Trust.

The Ryedale Learning Trust has also been granted sponsor status. In the future this will allow the new trust to sponsor and support other schools, where both the trust and the Department for Education believe there is the capacity and opportunity to do so. Collaborating with other schools really underpins the desire of the Ryedale Learning Trust to help provide the very best education for young people within the local area.

The decision to establish the new multi-academy trust was made after a recent consultation with staff, parents and the local community, and careful consideration of the feedback received.

In a letter to parents, David Dangerfield, Chair of the Ryedale Federation Governing Board, said:

Our view is that this decision is in the best long-term interests of our pupils and our schools, and builds upon the strong and successful partnership we have established as the Ryedale Federation since 2016. The intention is that our schools will convert during the summer term and that the Ryedale Learning Trust will be fully operational from September 2020 at the latest.”
