Learning at Home

All students have a school email address and password. This can be used to access a range of applications we will use to educate your child during the partial or full closure of the school. The key applications are:

  • Outlook – to access email
  • Microsoft Word and Powerpoint – to create written work and presentations
  • Sharepoint – to access departmental resources
  • Teams – an online platform which enables schools and universities to teach remotely

Our guidance to all students who are currently unable to attend school is to use the materials they have with them, and the links contained in the grid below, to consolidate the progress they have made in lessons so far this academic year. End of year examinations take place in June and revision time is given during our curriculum to prepare students effectively for them. Given these unexpected circumstances it may make sense to move these examinations forward. It is certainly a productive use of any child’s time to prioritise consolidation and revision work in the short term.

In the medium term we shall be using Microsoft Teams to set work (called ‘assignments’), communicate with students, mark work and give feedback. More information on how to use Microsoft Teams will be shared shortly. Please see below for an introductory video.
