Throughout the morning on Wednesday 11th May 2016, all year 7 and year 8 students were involved in workshops with the North Yorkshire Police, aimed at educating youg people about the importance of online safety. Students learnt how to stay safe online, what not to do online, the laws involving online behaviour and what they can do if they find themselves in trouble online.
All students found the session extremely beneficial, the three Officers leading the sessions were very informative and all students should now be better aware of their online conduct.
We will also be collaborating with the North Yorkshire Police over the next few months, and offering all parents the chance to attend an evening workshop aimed at keeping their child/children safe on the internet. More information regarding this will be posted soon, so please keep an eye out for this.
Students, remember, if you find yourself in an uncomfortable or difficult situation online, you must report it. You can report it to a teacher, the police or directly to CEOP.
