During the spring term, all year 10 food technology students visited Thomas the Bakers factory in Helmsley. Students gained valuable experience and an insight into one area of the food industry. Students toured the factory, saw bakers at work, interviewed Chris Chapman, Thomas the Bakers Quality Assurance Manager and munched a few treats too.
Students thoroughly enjoyed their visit and have gained valuable knowledge that they can now use within their controlled assessment tasks. This has been the second year Thomas the Bakers have invited Ryedale School students to see behind their factory doors, and we hope future years will get this opportunity also.
