The Ryedale Lions are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year and, to commemorate the event, are donating apple trees to all the schools in their area. On Monday, Gardening Club were given the important task of selecting a suitable site for our tree and making sure it got off to a good start by planting it carefully.
It was hard work digging the hole big enough, but all members got stuck in and had a go. There is also a plaque next to the tree so, in years to come, people can remember their kind donation.
Perhaps we’ll be able to juice some of the apples!
