This week’s chorale is the first one not in G major! Let’s see if that puts you off or not. Remember to prepare and resolve all suspensions and 7ths. Last week’s answer is here. The margin for error here is small isn’t it, as we discovered from the A, C and E grade answers we looked at. All of them seemed very similar and certainly sounded almost identical.

Much of this week’s homework is based on composition. Again the mark scheme is very detailed, and as you could see from the attention to detail in both the pieces we listened to in Sibelius, there is lots of work involved. I enjoyed listening to your own composition ideas, and the bits of counterpoint that you tried we good.

After a quick bit of revision of sonata form, we’ll look at the Mozart piano sonata next week. Well done and work hard this week!
